Why volunteer:

Volunteering with TheNeighborhoodFirst.org is a rewarding experience.  We believe that neighborhood identities are created through shared experiences, so we value all contributions.  In other words, you will not just be a volunteer, you will be a valued member of a team.

  1. To volunteer:

    1. It is easy to get involved!  The quickest way is to fill out the “Join!” form on the left of this page, and select your level of interest.  You can also take our “Availability and Interest” Survey to let us know how we can best work with you.  To take the brief survey, please click here or scroll down this page.  You can mention your specific interest, such as service projects, Neighborhood Nights events, or other community efforts.

Volunteer and Organize to Put Your Neighborhood First

Our focus:

    1. We believe that a neighborhood is defined by the shared experiences of all its members.  Currently, TheNeighborhoodFirst.org is focused on the Far North Side of Chicago; the neighborhoods of Uptown, Edgewater, and Rogers Park.  If you live outside these areas, we still welcome your participation and input.  Please check back with us regularly as we grow and expand.

  1. Questions:

    1. If you have any questions or would like more information on volunteering, please contact Dan Kleinman at dan@theneighborhoodfirst.org.  We will be happy to assist.
